Priceless: Mama Dog and Son Abandoned at Yard Sale Meet New Family

At first glance, it looked like any other yard sale ad: furniture, books, clothes, toys, and two Chihuahuas. Wait—what? When Chihuahua mother Chickpea and her puppy, Potato, were spotted for sale along with trinkets and toasters, a concerned citizen wondered what would happen to these vulnerable little animals if they were acquired as casually as they were being abandoned. So she arranged to pick up the mother dog and her puppy, and took them to the nearby Danville Area Humane Society (DAHS), an open-door shelter that carefully screens potential adopters, in Virginia.
